Hi, it's nice to meet you!

I'm Charlie Hanson, and I'm glad you're here.

What is a fun fact about myself?
I’m a huge reader, and my favorite genre is queer and literary fiction. Every year my goal is to read at least 50 books!

What can you expect as my client?

I bring warmth, empathy, and a non-judgmental presence into the therapy room and prioritize holding space for you in whatever way you need. I believe you are the expert in your own life, and my role is to walk alongside you, offering gentle guidance, thoughtful challenges, and meaningful insights. I draw from emotionally focused and narrative therapy approaches, which means we’ll focus on attuning to your emotions and crafting a narrative that feels more aligned and fulfilling to your authentic self. In our sessions, you can expect to feel heard, supported, challenged, and empowered.

I am LGBTQIA+, neurodivergent, and practice through a body, sex, and kink affirming framework.

Who am I outside of therapy?

In my freetime, I like to read, write, watch YouTube, walk dogs, and do crafts. I love hanging out with my friends and having art nights, exploring local thrift shops, or spending way too much money on a yummy oat milk iced latte.

Pronouns: He/Him

How did I become a therapist?

Ever since I was little, I’ve always wanted to be in a helping role. Growing up, I had a lot of amazing support from family, friends, and therapists. Now that I’m an adult, I want to be that support for someone else. I am passionate about advocating and uplifting people and am so excited to continue that as a therapist.

Ideal Clients

I earned my BA in liberal studies and sociology at Portland State University, and am currently completing my MA in Marriage, Family, and Couples Therapy, with a specialization in sexuality, at Lewis & Clark.

As a queer, trans, chronically ill, and autistic person, I bring lived experience into the therapy space. These identities shape how I move through the world, and they deeply inform my practice. I’m committed to creating a space that is inclusive, affirming, and grounded in care for those who hold these and other marginalized identities.

Teens 14+, individual adults, and couples. I look forward to working with those who are curious and open to therapy, and who are ready to implement positive change in their life. If this sounds like you, then I am thrilled to help you make these changes and reach your goals! It’s okay if you don’t know where to start; we will go through this journey together. I particularly enjoy working with folks who identify as queer, trans, and/or neurodivergent.
