What is a fun fact about myself?
I love engaging in the adventures and creative parts of myself and have tried out different hobbies throughout the years like paragliding, standup comedy and ceramics!
What can you expect as my client?
I truly believe that every person has value, strengths, and is deserving and in need of supportive connection with others. With that in mind, you can expect that first and foremost I’m here to listen and understand your story. I’m here so we can work together to unpack complicated emotions, messages you’ve been told, and how you interact with the world around you so we can move towards building more sustainable and supportive relationships with yourself and others.
My style is warm, compassionate, collaborative and at times even humorous! With my view that therapy is a relationship built on trust, I bring honesty, genuine care for every client, and respect for differences in our work together. I am antiracist, sex and body positive, and LGBTQIA+, poly, and kink-affirming, and am always here to discuss the significance our identities have in life and therapy.
Who am I outside of therapy?
In my spare time I love hiking with my dog, climbing, spending time with friends, doing crafts like making air dry clay magnets, cooking at home and getting absorbed in a good TV show. I’m happiest when I’m outside with friends and the sun is shining.
How did I become a therapist?
Having studied rhetoric and media studies in undergrad, I spent several years afterwards doing digital marketing. While I found this work interesting, it left me a bit unfulfilled, and I realized that what I enjoyed most about working in that field was thinking about the intersection of marketing and human behavior. I’ve always felt truest to myself while connecting with others through authentic conversations, and having been a long-time therapy client myself, realized that using my compassion to help others manage their mental health obstacles is my calling.
I am currently earning my master’s degree in Marriage, Couple, and Family Therapy and Lewis & Clark College, specializing in sexuality and gender, and will graduate summer 2026. My educational and clinical experience has centered around sexuality and gender, group counseling with adolescents, and grief.
I also hold a bachelor’s degree in Rhetoric & Media Studies from Willamette University.
Prior to starting my master’s degree, I did various volunteer and professional work which acted as precursors to a career in mental health. I’ve done advocacy work for families with health compromised members, coordinated fundraising efforts for programs aimed at alleviating domestic abuse, been an early childhood developmental care assistant, and have worked as a tutor for adults learning English as a second language. In the digital marketing space, I analyzed data and implemented growth strategies for clients, but most enjoyed mentoring and managing team members with a growth-based style.
I enjoy working with people whose identities and experiences around sex and gender may leave them feeling misunderstood/stigmatized by society. As a queer person who has seen huge benefits from working with queer therapists myself, I would love to offer similar value to my clients. More broadly I like working with individuals and couples on matters related to communication, relational connection, attachment, family of origin issues, life transitions, and identity and the impact of societal expectations. I invite clients to be honest about what’s working and what’s coming up for them in therapy, so we more effectively work towards goals in a trusting manner.
